Statement of Attainment towards SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing

  • 300 Hours
  • Three Units over one Year
  • Two Units over one Year
  •  Minimum of 100 days in paid employment

This course is only available to students undertaking a school-based apprenticeship. Students undertake Stage 1 of their apprenticeship whilst they are at school and an additional two years full-time post-school in both on and off-the-job training. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, students will be a qualified Hairdresser. In the course, students gain experience working with clients, selling products and services and applying a broad range of technical hairdressing services to clients.


HSC INFORMATION
This is a Board Endorsed Course and therefore has no HSC examination.


UNITS
To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in 28 units of competency:

  • 21 core units; plus
  • 7 elective units.

Students undertake the following units of competency for the Statement of Attainment towards Certificate III in Hairdressing whilst at school: Students then go to TAFE NSW to complete the remainder of their qualification post-school.

  • BSBSUS201 Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
  • SHBXCCS002 Provide salon services to clients
  • SHBHTRI001 Identify and treat hair and scalp conditions
  • SHBHCLS002 Colour and lighten hair
