Sydney Catholic Schools has three dedicated Training Centres:
- Southern Cross Catholic College
- Saint Yon Trade Training Centre
- St Joseph Trades Skills Centre
Our Training Centres form a significant part of our vocational education and training (VET) ecosystem, providing a breadth of courses in purpose-built facilities that reflect industry standards; with timetable structures to support student success.
The courses are delivered by expert teachers and trainers, providing students with the opportunity to develop skills that they will draw upon for the rest of their lives.
Students may also participate in a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship. School-based apprenticeships and traineeships offer students the opportunity to combine academic learning with on-the-job training, allowing them to gain practical skills, experience, and a head start in their chosen profession.
Training Centre VET graduates are job-ready, resilient, and possess strong soft skills such as problem-solving, working in a team and communicating effectively. They imbue a view of life-long learning and a growth mindset.
St Joseph Trades Skills Centre is located at Hinchinbrook, and is proudly part of Good Samaritan Catholic College. It offers Automotive, Beauty Services (Makeup), Business Services, Construction, Early Childhood Education and Care, Electrotechnology, Events, Fitness, Hairdressing, Hospitality, Human Services (Individual Support), Information and Digital Technology, and Retail Services.
Saint Yon Trade Training Centre is located in Bankstown, and is proudly part of LaSalle Catholic College. It offers Automotive, Beauty Services (Makeup), Business Services, Construction, Carpentry Electrotechnology, Hospitality, Human Services (Allied Health), Human Services (Individual Support), Information and Digital Technology, and Plumbing.
Southern Cross Catholic College is located in Burwood. It offers Automotive, Baking, Beauty Services (Make-Up), Business Services, Community Dance, Theatre and Events, Construction, Furniture Making, Early Childhood Education and Care, Events, Hairdressing, Hospitality, Human Services (Allied Health), Information & Digital Technology, Music Industry, Retail Services, and School-Based Education Support.
